Default ABS/Brake Warning

My ABS and Brake Warning Dash lights just came on simultaneously and haven't gone off since. What do I need to inspect to see what's happening with the ABS myself?

thanks for any recommendations

It's not the ABS system. 90% chance your speed sensor on the rearend is bad. Dealer-only part - about $45. Change it yourself. Reset the computer. http://www.v8performance.com/tipsandtricks.htm#ResetPCM Done deal.

I'm sure it is the speed sensor is the rear diif. This seems like such a common problem (this and the throttle position sensor seem to go in all these trucke)

Thats funny because mine also came on about a half hour ago. The Brake light and ABS light came on, than when i restarted the truck, my speedometer stopped reading.

mine did that a few weeks ago. both on, no apparent reason. then 2 days later the brake line leak got bad enough for me to notice it. check for leaks too

Yeah it's the rear wheel speed sensor I changed min e3 months ago . It did the same thing abs & brake light came on and then my speedometer quit working.
It is a dealer item only like Racinfan83 said the new one for mine came with a extension wire plug because they changed the design.
