strange box under drivers dash
I was replacing the heater core on my dodge ram - requires a dash pull... and I found a black box, no part numbers or serial with a connector unplugged, was attached to the main harness by cable ties. The wires are tapped to two wires on the steering column and the rest of the connector goes into the drivers door harness.
Thank you.

Do you have a better picture of the module?
I found a Cell car kit wired to truck, it was spliced into the wires by the steering column under the drivers side of the dash. I found the speaker for the kit behind the ABS computer plastic house down by the 4wd shifter.

I could not take a better picture of the box, it was very dark and it is up in there. I did not had any speakers inside the dash, but I noticed that the plug is disconnected next to it and the speakers on the driver side does not works and in the other side only works when you hit a bump on the road. There is no remote start or alarm in the truck and these wires just go through the hole at the drivers door.
Thank you guys for your help, happy thanksgiving for all.

That's one of those Department of Homeland Security GPS boxes. They sneak those things in a suspects vehicle so they can track you from the black helicopters.

remote starter module, as far as I know. I had one in my truck as well, pulled it, turned key, nothing, no cranking. nothing. i never did look to see if it was changed when I got my new commandstart and alarm installed. when i bought the truck the previous owner lost the fob.
mine had another jack on the side for the remotestart antenna.

i have just a base model with a 5 speed.. i doubt mine would have that. is it possible to install a remote start on a 5 speed. or is there any kits that allow it to start without holding the clutch???
