Flushin the radiator ?
Gettin ready to flush and drain the rad . Looks pretty nasty in there and the mix is not right for winter . So I'm just gonna dump it and probably run some water through just make sure I get some more of the crap out , this is the first time I've done this on a dodge . Any tips or comment would be appreiciated . What brand and color antifreeze should I use?
Remove with upper and lower hoses, and the t stat housing and t stat. Grab a hose and run it right through the block, and through the rad. You can do the same from the heatercore if you want.
Yep , I'm with ya so what kind of anti freeze do I need torun in this thing I know oyu can't run the green . I heard yellow or orange . Is that correct?
As long as your 2001 or older, the green anti-freeze is ok. After that (2002+), your supposed to use the (typically) yellow/orange: something that meets Chrysler spec MS-9769 "or the equivalent ethylene glycol base coolant with organic corrosion inhibitors (called HOAT, for Hybrid Organic Additive Technology) is recommended."

Etholyne Glychol is what is suppose to be ran in these, that is the green stuff. Don't get the pre mixed crap either, go to a REAL parts store (not Advanced Auto, Auto Zone, ect) and get 100% Etholyne Glychol then mix it 50/50 yourself.
Your not suppose to run the really new coolant or the GM Dex Cool crap, thats Propolyne Glychol and it doesn't agree with the cooling system over long periods of time.

For flushing you can use "white" vingar. Drain the old stuff out then add a 1/2 gal or so of white vingar run it alittle then let it set for alittle while then flush with clean water. Then refill. Worked good on the Chev. should work on the Dodge.
Thanks for the info . Iwasn't sure about the anti freeze , but now I know.
I have heard about the vingar before ,but have never tried it so, maybe this might be a good time thanks all.
