Any PROS?? or CONNS? for running my 01 1500 5.9L 4X4 without a CAT?

This state doesn't have inspection. Will I increase HP or Torque?
Does anyone know what code if any would be displayed?

it woud be the code for the rear O2 sensor (the one behind where the cat is saposed to be). Dependig on the exhaust that you have without the cat you will loose back pressure... if you have dual or large exhaust you may not have enough back pressure and will loose some low end tourqe. I am running without a cat, and i have a 2.5" single exhaust. i dont notice any difference, except it sounds way meaner. I also put in a O2 simulator so i didnt have my CE light on all the time.

 

Were did u get the O2 simulator?

 

I got it from O2simulator.com. It was the most informative web page and a easy install because it tells you the colors of the wires in your truck.

 

i have no CAT. and previous to the 2nd half of 99, the sensors weren't throwing codes, 1999 2nd and newer, without a cat, it will throw a code.


i recently had a "short to o2 sensor" code, I cleared it, and hasn't since put out a CE light again.
