Did you get the rotor seated all the way down before you put the cap on? If not, it probably shredded itsself and the inside of the cap. The wires also need to be routed exactly like the factory did it or you will have trouble with misfires.

cap wasnt seated, got all the wires re-routed and in the right spot! plugs are toasted though, only a month old!
