Default locker or not

looking to do gears in a couple months and figured why not a locker too? been looking into a detriot and heard they were a little noisy and jerky. is anybody running a true trac, detriot's geared limited slip? a limited slip with no clutches sounded to good to be true. exactly how noisy are the lockers when driving around town?

I saw go for it. Detriots are awesome, bulletproof, and don't have the best road manners. Only thing is that your paying for the name. They are amazing quality but they're probably way more then you need for some weekend excursions. Your best bet is limited slip or one of the ratcheting lockers which can get noisy. Nobody makes a selectable locker for the 9.25" so your possibilities are kinda limited.

The true Detroit lockers are not noisy at all.

I never heard mine. never. The racheting design was old school. They dont do that anymore.

Dont go limited slip. Go true locker. You wont be disapointed.

You get a clunk now and then with a Detroit. Also watch it on snow/ice as your back end will want to come around if you break traction.

Detroit Locker is the way to go. There are a few variations. I was mistaken calling my a Truetrac. I have the Detroit Locker SL (soft locker). Same as a Detroit Locker only with "reduced noise". Regardless of which model, they guys are right. These things are TOUGH.

Good luck with your ride.

IN snow and ice they are more predictable than an open diff or a limited slip.

so you "know" the *** end will come out instead of trying to figure out if it will or if it wont.
