Default Better fuel economy: anyone try this?

This is an interesting read. I think I might try a few tanks and see.

They did a test on mythbusters with accetone. Both carbed and fuel injected vehicles decreased the mileage with a small amount of accetone added.. Went from 17mpg city to 16.7mpg and 25 mpg highway to 24mpg. Carbed car decreased similar amount.
That myth was busted

I also did the test, no change whatsoever, I can't get as specific as to say went from 17 mpg to 16.7 mpg ?????? but I saw no difference at all.

Any time gas prices go up, all of the snake oil remedies to increase fuel mileage start popping up.

The 'Internet Myth' of adding acetone to gasoline just won't go away will it?

It runs on because if 1000 people try adding acetone to their gasoline,
and all they check is the next tank of gasoline's MPG
then
500 will find some kind of increase in MPG
and like an 'identical twin'
500 will find some kind of decrease in MPG.

The average of all 1000 people would be near zero
or as Mythbusters found
maybe even slightly less.

The exact same thing is behind
all the 'Internet Myth' that
Cold Air Intakes
improve MPG in typical daily driving.

I read all about it on the Internet, so it MUST be true.
