aight, heres the deali-o. buddy wants to sell me a practically brand new set of hummer tires, 36x12.50x16.5. and i have a lead on some stock 16 inch wheels. keyword being 16, not 16.5, how big a deal is that .5?
Most tire manufacturers state explicitly on the sidewalls of 16.5" tires not to mount them on 16" rims and vice versa. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I doubt you'd even get a good enough seal on the bead of tire for it to hold air, at least not for very long. The other thing to consider is tire shops have to cover their own *** and for liability reasons alone, won't mount mismatched tires and rims. Just a thought.
now that i think about it even if the 16.5 to 16 would work, which i dont think it would, 12.5 to 7 (width) wouldnt work. so no, it wont work. get some new rims.
yeah like the boys said no go with the 16.5's with 16's
and i thought real hummers came with 37's ?
theres two different tires that came on hummers... dont know the exact names offhand, but ones a 37" tire which is more or less an all terrain type. the 36" is much, much nastier and is used offroad.
