Default Put in the rear bilsteins

I have all 4 bilsteins in now, and I have to say, iv never driven a truck that handles so well ever. Theres this corner near my house that I use to judge how well something corners, and in my last "mildly" modded car, i was taking it at about 110 (45* corner) before I started to lose the rear. When I first got the truck, I tried it, and the rear swung out to the oncoming lane at 75mph. I put the fronts on about a week ago, and tried again; 95 before it started to slide. Today my rears came in, and now Im pushing 100-105 before I slide. I dont know how much it has to do with the shocks being upgraded, as that the old shocks were trash, but all I do know is, it is wonderufl, and I cant wait to get some better swaybars and a new set of rubbers.

I have done some truely stupid things in my time so I am hardly the person to point fingers. However, judging the handling of a car (let alone a truck) by provoking a slideonpublic roads at > 100mph is simplyasking for it.Take it to the track because driving like this on public roads puts everyone elseat risk of your killing them.At least fill out your organ donor card. If you dont change your ways it isgoinig to be neededsoon.

It's pretty sad that DF is steadily becoming a sounding board for self-appointed saftey crusaders. This is the second thread I've read today that someone whined about someone else going too fast. Everyone's abilities are different as are their opinions. 75+% of the discussions here are about how to INCREASE the performance/handling of their trucks ... how many of those people do you think take their vehicles to the track? With a few well known exceptions ... virtually none. Most of thesemods are forSTREET vehicles.

i do understand your point and it is a good one. but . . .

putting on a CAI or a performance chip or better plugs and wires i will say is not done so we can race 130 mph down the street in a pickup truck just to feel better about beating some teenager in a ricer. just my opinion

TMS - First time I have been called a "self-appointed saftey crusader".Ha ha. Driving atthe limitonpublic streetsISa bad idea and sayingso does not makeme a safety crusader. Honest - howwould you like to face Indyhead-on while he is driftin2 tons of truckinto yourlane at 105mph?Maybe I amjustgetting old.Ive been to a coupletoo many big *****/no brainswakes. There is a big difference between 80% and99%.When things go wrong at 80% you have choices, at 99% you arejust along for the ride. What I wouldsuggest isthat if you want to drive at the limittake it to a track and learn from the best.

Agreed. [sm=smiley20.gif]Just because some of us obey every damn traffic law on the planet doesn't mean there are others who don't.

BTW- Self Appointed Safety Crusader cracks me up

You can play........but sliding your truck on a public road, while going 100-110 is just plain idiotic, I don't care how good your so called ability is. As Fire/EMS, I see peoples abilities wrapped around utility poles, or rolled 6-8 times across fields, or the worse ones like missing a curve and going through a house andkilling a child.

Grow up

so do i, so do i. I think yall are making more of this than there really is. Its not crazy rediculiously sharp, its just tough enough to make a high speed turn semi challenging. I dont think id be doing it if there was THAT much danger to it, though...i have been known to do such things.

....back to the original point of the thread....
i'm glad you like your shocks. i've heard lots of good things about them and nothing negative except the higher than average cost.
