Old thread, but I think that with our broken dashes and leaking plenum pan gaskets that SLT was just code for "Made in China".

Ok, now THAT was FUNNY. Gave me a good laugh, so, I won't whine about resurrecting 10 year old threads. Welcome to DF!

I have a 2004 Dodge 2500 quad cab 4x4 SLT with a 5.9 Cummins. It is about as basic as a truck can be.

Obviously you never seen a base model, The SLT's had power window/doors,cruse and other things standard where the base model didn't.

I've come up with the following (based on the fact that GT = Grand Touring):
Ford XLT = eXtra Luxury Truck (or eXtra Luxury Transport)
Dodge SLT = Super Luxury Truck (or Super Luxury Transport)

But it could also mean something Light Truck, and then what does the ST stand for, Super Truck?
Anyone know?
