Default anti-lock brake controller

How do I tell which brake controller I have and whether the HYPERTECH controller will be able to compensate for tire size changes?

What exactly are you trying to do? I'm not sure of the relationship between the brake controller and the Hypertech.

The Hypertech can adjust for tire size, but it depends on what year truck you are running. Provide some more information on your truck so we can give some feedback.

The hypertech can be used on the Ram, Dakota and Durango. In '97 the only vehicle that was capable of tire size change was the Dakota 4x4. That I know of '98 and up of all vehicles are capable of changing tire size. This is just what I'mgetting from the bottom of the Hypertech features chart. Of course everytime you talk to them they bring up the Kelsey-Hayes ABS controller.

A couple of us couldn't figure where you'd be able to find out if you have the Kelsey-Hayes ABS controller . Here's a link to that.

EDIT: Hopefully someone knows where to find out about the ABS controller.

Ramdamnit98,

Thanks so it seems that only the 97's had a brake controller other than the Hayes. Since Mine is a 2001 is should adjust the speedo.

Thanks

I would think it should but I did see in another thread someone with a '01 not getting a prompt to change for tire size.

EDIT: Alright I had to go look again since this question has come up a couple times. I found the words Kelsey-Hayes under a sticker on the back of a black module on my '98. I'm don't know if your '01will look the same but I thought I'd post the pic of mine.

nice picture ram.
i'm the one who's hypertech won't give me the prompt for changing tire size.
i have the same looking black box with labels on both side.
on the rear, you can see the KE formed in the vertically in the plastic, but the label covers the rest of it.
i can't see it all, but i'm sure its says Kelsey Hayes
rear label...
P52010075AD
TXXBU0791A1154
front label..
C1H8MHQ
13451521-D

so i tried the reprogramming again. returned it to stock, and then reprogramed for 87 octane, adjusted speed limiter up 1 notch, rev limiter up 100. end of prompts. program successful.
no tire size prompt. crap.

Just went out and scraped down part of the top sticker to see "AYES" molded verticaly into the back of the black box (left side). I'm going to guess that if I took off more of the sticker, I'd see "Kelsey-H"and given that I've got a `98 ... maybe I need a Hypertech.
