Default Oil leak...

After driving and parking my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 (5.2)pick up truckI have noticed a small transmission fluid leak coming from the top (engine and trans area), between trans cage and oil pan, leaving a dot the size of a qurter on my driveway. That's the only place leaking, everythinig elseis dry all around. Any idea of what's going on??

Default RE: Oil leak...

Since nobody but one member onlyresponded tothe leaking problem between engine and trans area in my truck,I assumedmany arenot familiar with the problem and that's why Iwill like to post the following information for future referenceor members trying to find out a solutionto the same problem.
According to a Dodge Dealer tech, theleak is caused due to a damage front trans pumpallowing fluid toescape or leak. Solution to the problem........would need to be resealed and in order to replace/resealed, trans has to be removed....ohh[sm=noooo.gif]
How much?..... $780.00 plus tax on the parts. [:@]OUCH!!
Well, I decide to pass and declined the repair at this time. According to the tech, and since the leak is minor, I cancontinue driving it as long as Ikeep checking the level and adding fluid once or twicea month. I think I will do thatuntil I trade it in for a newer truck.......[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
