Default Stock stereo

I dont know if im not suposed to ask a question like this or not, so if im not just delete this...

My truck has the base 4 speaker stereo with the am/fm radio and a cassette...
I want to get one with a CD player in it.

It seems like a good 30% of the people on here have replaced their stockers with aftermarket systems, I was wondering if anyone had a stock CD player laying around that they dont want.
Or a aftermarket one with a CD player for that matter.

It seems to me that stock stereos would work best with stock speakers, so I would rather keep everything stock just becasue I dont care that much about sound quality but I do want a CD player...

Thanks.

No matter what aftermarket is always going to sound so much better then stock, i couldnt belive the difference when i replaced my deck. And if you look on ebay it might be cheaper just to buy an aftermarket one then a stock one.

The best piece of advise you can get with these trucks is, if you are going to replace it, up grade it. The little extra money for good after market parts is better than replacing stock parts 2 or 3 times.

I agree with hicktown on this one. Pioneer all the way for these. For the money you'll spend on a stocker, you can get a decent aftermarket CD player, and it'll have all the rca outputs/inputs etc. for future upgrades (you never know what you may want to do later). Just spend as much as you can afford and get the best deck your budget will allow.

Alright, I probably will just go aftermarket then...

Ive had people tell me that my truck has 5-1/4 speakers all around, one told me 6 -9 in the front and 5-1/4 in the rear, and someone esle told me somthing else...
What size are they?

I have herd aftermarket stereos with aftermarket speakers and no amp or subs and personally I think they sound ****ty, but once you throw an amp into the mix it gets much better.

I DO NOT want subs, just becasue I dont have much storage space as it is and I dont need to feel like im at a movie theaater.

What speakers, deck, and amp are other people using? How much did it cost?
On of my frends told me if its going to sound half way decent its going to cost me over 600 bucks, and I dont want to spend that on a stero system.

Also, how hard was it to get the door panels off, and the rear panels to get to the speakers?

I dont remember what is in front for size I do remember it was oval so maybe 6x9 I put in 6.5 in there place and 5.25 in the rear Im runing all pioneerexecpt the sub and amp which are rockford. I did not want a sub, like you, at the begining but it sounds so much better when you remove the base out of the front speakers and put it to the sub. I did alot of shoping around and did 1 head unit 4 speakers 1amp 1sub 1 sat.radio for about $800dollars. Go to crutchfield.com they will tell youwhat will fit in your truck - head unit and speakers plus they throw in any mounting or wiring kits you need.

6x9 in the front and 5.25 in the rear. i love pioneer decks with infinity speakers. If you do get new speakers your going to need at least a 350x4 channel amp if they are pretty good speakers.

These are some of the speakers that Crutchfeild recomends...

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-6u6Id6H...mp;I=023GTC652

"component system" so, its got seperate tweeters... Is there an area for them?

Im plenty capible of reworknig the doors to fit these, or making any brackets needed for it I was just wondering if these are a good choice?
They are in my price range and dont look to bad to me, is there a better choice?

This is the first I have herd of a "component system" so I was just wondering.

When I did my speakers crutchfield sent some plastic block off plates that go over the 6x9 hole, just cut out your 6.5 hole and mount your speaker to it,they had a spot for tweeters in the upper corners. ask them about it if you order them.
