Default Lets get this truck in shape.

Ok so i use my Ram for work for now, but i want to use it for play too. It's pretty sucky on the highway; no power, vibrations, hairy handling. And it's a pig around town, slow until it gets to around 3000rpm, 11mpg. I checked for the death flash, but theres nothing there, i'm wondering if it's possible that the last owner got it flashed ( seems like he did alot of regular matinece) and they didn't sticker it. I just want some more lower end torque and some more HW HP.

Nextly, the 4x4 is a little weird, somtimes it take it a moment to click in or out of 4x4 i'm not sure why.

I'm thinking;
Hat style air cleaner,
Trans-go shift kit,
Fastmann tb,
Flowmaster Exhaust,

and some new tires and a lift later down the road. What do you guys think?

Perfectly normal ... I've noticed the more I use it (lots of rain lately) the faster it engages/disengages.

Installing a locker won't affect your 4x4 engagement. It's a vacuum operated system ... it just takesa few seconds sometimes. I've had a delay of about 8 or 9 seconds before. Recently, it's almost instantanious.

Yeah, I have a problem getting mine into 4 Lo. It goes into 4 Hi ok, but I have a pretty hard time getting it into 4 Lo. Then, sometimes it makes a metal clunking sound, and the 4wd light doesn't come on. It does come on for for Hi, though. I hope this thing doesn't have stripped gears or something? Any ideas?

Thanks.

Ive never had any trouble with engaging or dsengaging my 4x4 recently though with all the snow in colorado I havent had it out of 4x4. I live in a college town so there were a lot of cars on the side of the side streets so the city just plowed down the middle. God im tired of the snow. and today it finaly warmed up so now it is like driving through a pasture because it didnt melt all the snow/ice.

well.. small tires on a lifted truck will surely make it be seen.. and laughed at.. i almost got a truck.. dodge ram 99 1500 with 9 inch lift on it.. had 33 inch tiresthat made the truck look like a monster truck reject.. it needed AT LEAST 40's on it..
