im notsaying to do this but.. have you look into a 5th wheel ? plus the tires ? gotta look at the rating on them to... i would rather have the weight on the axle then behind it .even with my power stroke i would never pull no more then 10,000lbs..
lol I dont think I'll ever get laid driveing that monster. Adiesel worktruck would be acheep option in the future butI need an OBD II truck with 4 doors or excab.
A 3500 Diesel would be nice if I wanted to spend $13,000 on one.
You can get one for $13,000, sounds like quite a deal.
First off that is way too much weight for the truck. I am pushing it with a 7,000 lb. trailer. I have changed the gearing from 3.55 to 4.10 and that will make some difference as far pulling power.Mine pulls great on flat land and small hills but anything too steep and long will slow it down. I am still faster than semi truck traffic. I can only imagine what those hills would do to you. With that being said you mentioned being light in the front. A proper weight distribution hitch setup will helpthat. You really needto have some idea of what the tongue weight is. I am guessing that with that size trailer you are well over 1,000 lbs on the tongue.Probably in the 1400 to2000 lb. range. I have Super Springs on my truck and they work well since they are not stiffening suspension at all times only when heavily loaded. Hard to believe but they actually made ride better when truck is empty. I highly recommend this product but I am not sure if it is right for your situation. Your rear axle and transmission are taking on quite a load. Changing rear axle would not hurt. I did not notice but if you have an auto trans and don't have a cooler you need one.
