Oh, and if it is contacting your driveline, be sure to keep your eyes on it in the future... It wore mine down pretty good.

Long story short - it snapped in two at 135mph at 3 am in the morning after graduation.

That was the first and last time I had my truck that fast... Now I'm limited to 120 becuase of the slipping overdrive clutches in my transmission...
Well I'd say that about myth busts the one about the back end of your truck pole vaulting over the front end of the truck due to the drivetrain snapping at high speeds... good to know

not true. why do you think many racing organizations (especially drag racing due to the extreme popwer applied) require driveshaft safety loops? the pole vault has happened before in drag racing (not sure what class, i saw it a few years back on speed channel), and its always a possibility

My 98 has the same problem, I am just toolazy to take the driveshafts off and check out the U joints since i seldomly drive it anymore.

Also, Radwebster, they require them because a drive shaft at high speeds hitting the cement can chip the surface of the track.
