Once someone starts talking about replacing one spark plug, I can kinda start to see a light dawning...

You got a serious performance issue, spend the $200 or whatever in parts, if you're a DIY'er it's worth a TON more.
Spend $200 in parts and DIY, you're talking about taking a weekend off to do it but you're also doing a $600 tune up at mechanic rates, roughly speaking (now that will DO something).
You think of pulling one, it's been a while since it's been done, please do yourself a favor and replace the whole lot.
Use a real spark plug, like double platinum Autolite part number APP5224, gap to .035, $35.
Get some real spark plug wires, too... Try Accel's 8mm wires and you'll never use a lesser wire again, $80.
On the cap and rotor, insist on High performance parts, it's only $5 more to total $15.

As for injectors and other related issues...
I don't ever put any mystery crap in my tanks or engines.

You want something that runs good, use a high octane premium namebrand fuel exclusively and run synthetic oil (at least blend), and run tank after tank of premium through it, and after a year or so tell me if it ever ran better.
It hurts bad at first, but once I forced myself to switch to premium, I never looked back, I even run it in my lawn mower.
Yes, it costs as much if not more over the years to use a cheaper fuel, as it causes more of the exact problems your truck is experiencing. With a premium fuel you save yourself headache and frustration, either way, you can pay for it at the pump or at the shop.
Oh yeah, replace the fuel filter, even more so if it hasn't been done in 20k+ miles or you can't remember, 10 bucks.

What the F are you talking about? Use a "real" spark plug? Platinum plugs have shown to be less than optimal for performance in Magnum engines. Champion Copper or Truck plugs (one or two heat ranges cooler than stock) gapped at .040" is the plug of choice.

He said he just replaced the cap, rotor and wires ... yet you want him to do it again ... why?

Once and for all ... running premium in these trucks is a complete waste of money. If you are experiencing pinging ... find the source of the problem and FIX IT. If you are not pinging ... consider yourself fortunate and press on. The Magnum engine was designed to run on regular pump gas. Some folks have modified their engines by advancing the timing by some means (CPS mod, programmer, MP PCM). THEY may need the slower burn of premium fuel to avoid pinging but anyone else using it is throwing their money down a rat hole. They will receive ZERO return on their "investment".

People come here for advice on their vehicles ... not the perpetuation of age old myths.

EDIT: Oh yeah ... and just how is he supposed to change the fuel filter? It's part of the fuel pump/regulator assembly ... in the tank ... hardly a $10 item.
