What kind of antenna do you want? Mag mount? If so I run a Wilson 1000 and it's a very good antenna. The 5000 is a little better especially if you are running a lot of power behind it but for what I use a 1000 is all I need. I have a Superstar 121 in my truck and like it a lot. I previously had a Cobra 29 whatever the nightwatch one is it was stock. I had numerous people tell me how great it was but I hated that radio. Ended up not using it much and sold it. I had it with my Wilson antenna. It didn't seem to reach very far and I couldn't understand anything anyone was saying. The speaker in it was horrible. I had people tell me this after I bought it that they reccomend running a external speaker which I didn't want to do. The speaker just sounded like a blown speaker. Not really blown but it sounded distorted. I didn't like the radio at all although some people seem to really like them. I ended up getting a Superstar 121 as several friends use them so I knew I'd like it. Seems to reach a lot further than the Cobra both had the antenna adjusted by me for the radio. It is a ton clearer and I can now actually understand what people are saying. It doesn't have the weather channels the Cobra did but that didn't matter to me. I love it works great for what I do. Connex also makes some great radio's. I'd sworn off Cobra products until someone gave me a Cobra handheld CB. It's a good little radio and crystal clear. I like it a lot but that Cobra 29 I had was a POS imo. I wouldn't reccomend one to anyone and I don't see why anyone likes them.

Oh ok I didn't know they had gone out of bussiness. I knew that someone had told me they quit making the 3900 a year or so ago I guess a little over a year ago but I still saw it listed on some sites so I wasn't sure. I got a buddy to pick up my 121 at a local CB shop thats near them. I couldn't find any cb shops nearby here. I've heard Connex makes some good radio's and I almost bought one of them but I knew I liked the Superstar as my buddies use it. I also figured for what little I use mine that I don't need to spend all the extra money on a Connex. My only two I've owned have been the Cobra and the Superstar so those are all I have experience with. Well I own a Cobra handheld that a buddy gave me as a gift. When he picked up the Superstar for me he bought me a handheld as a early Christmas/b-day gift. I love it. I've also used his Midland handheld and it also seems to be very nice. I have to say out of all the handhelds I have used though I think my Cobra is one of the best. I absolutely love it but that Cobra 29 scarred me away from Cobra stuff. Hopefully the rest of their products are more like the handheld.

Where did you find info on Superstar? I've had trouble finding info online other than from a few sites that sell CB's that sell Superstars.

yeah, i have a maxon handheld. i got it for 29 bucks, and it works well, but has a very limited range. it works well for trailing riding in close quarters with my buddies, but i need something with a good amount of power. plus the p/a system would be nice too.... haha

I had forgotten about Galaxy. I've heard great things about them too although I've never used one. I'm kind of leary of CB's I haven't used though after everyone reccomending the Cobra and me not liking it. Thats why I just went with the Superstar I'd used. I'd see if you can find some people with differn't ones or something and test them out. I think thats the best way to go about it not just go on what people say.

I saw Mirage listed on that site and it's one brand I had forgotten about. I had a friend with one of those I think a Mirage 44 or something and it seemed to work well also. I'm not sure what ever happend to it as he now has a Superstar also. Might still have the Mirage in another truck I'm not sure if he does or not. I clicked the link on that site and nothing seemed to come up though so I'm not sure if they still carry them or what.
