I've been running a Cobra 29NWST for over 5 years and it is great! I had a CB shop peak and tune it and put a talk back in it so I could hear myself talk..I've used a K40 for a couple years then bought a 4' Firestick. Don't waste your time putting Two antennas on because you aren't really gaining anything because they arent far enough apart (from experience and many other people's as well) I have a PA hooked up to myne and a VHF radio for my fire and police mounted underneath it just above the 4wd shifter..It all really depends on what you want...you could spend $60 or so at walmart and get a cobra that you don't have to tune and comes with a WX band selector

i was thinking about going cheap, but i have done that before with other products, and it didn't turn out so well. when i go offroad, i have a heavy foot. so i needed something that was pretty rough, and could hold up to all the shock and bumping around.

I have a Cobra with dual 4' fiberglass antennas. I get alot of engine static through my antennas but thats because I ahven't grounded them yet.

i have a stock cobra 29 nw wx and a 2ft firestick w/3in spring mounted just off front of bed drivers side. it works good for 1-2 miles. a buddy bought a small cobra at wal-mart for for about $35 and runs a 3ft firestick. it works very good, maybe better than mine. a $5-10 noise filter in the power wire will eliminate the engine static. i have one.

RF Limited S-45 Omegaforce (Magnum Radio) and a Wilson 5000 magnetic. Great radio, works well for me.
