Default Good deal?

Found a 94 dodge ram 1500 slt 2 door 4x4 with a plow. Truck has 125000 miles on it the dealer is asking 6 im sure i can talk them down... Does this sound like a decent deal? i know the risk in buying a used plow truck is the tranny maybe terrible and the front suspension shot i cant drive my suv nemore lol.

I have to say that the deal I supposed depends on your area, I got my 96 with 93k, for 5,000 ex. cab, 4x4, auto excellent condition. Then agian I have no idea what the plow it worth.
sorry, I couldn't be of much help, do blue book and add what you think the plow it worth and that is what you should be paying

Kbb says with the plow from a dealer is 6 so thats about right. Is this a decent year for the dodge? any major known problems besides the tranny and plenum? and if i do get it suggestions on good exhaust brand and possible lift kit?

To me it sounds little high as it seems like there isn't too much demand for these trucks anymore. That one is kind of old and I've heard to stay away from plow trucks but then again I've never bought one so I don't know. As for and exhaust I'd go with a custom setup with a Flowmaster. I'm a big fan of the Flowmaster sound.

to me and kbb, $6,000 is way too high. how are you doing the kbb search. put in the truck and ask for private party pricing, unless the dealer is giving you a 12mo, 12,000 mile warranty (ha ha). pay no attention to kbb retail price, that is asking price NOT what its worth.

i get 3300 w/o the plow, 3700 with.

its not that bad a deal but the plow does do a number on a truck especially a half ton..... r you buying this truck for plowing because if your not i wouldnt reccomend buying a truck that has been used for plowing

Judging by how the truck looks I would think it might have not been maintianed very well. Plow lights are different, grills gone, exhaust is all jacked up. It kinda makes me think that some of the mechanical part of the truck weren't always taken care of when they should've been. I'd make sure to have a mechanic or someone check it out to make sure nothings wrong with it.

I vote 6k as way too high. The hood is misaligned, the rear bumper is askew and the door is rusted through. That's just noticeable from the pictures.

IMHO, I'd stay away from any truck w/ a plow. Had a buddy that got one and nothing but trouble.

I picked my truck up at a city auction - '99 reg. cab 4x4 w/ 99,000 miles for $3k. It was used by the city surveyors and I knew the 4x4 was used very little. I figured putting $1k in it and after $1800, I'm still adding on!
