I'd pull them out and clean them first before spending $300 to change them. I'm a big believer in cleaning before replacing if the sensors are costly, you got nothin' to lose. You have four? You have dual cats? My '98, 5.2 has two sensors on single exhaust..

"is anywhere from 200 to 250 miles to a 26 gal tank good?"
Well, it is a 360. My 318 runs the same mileage on 3/4 tank, roughly 14 mpg.

Not to steal the thread but what have you used to clean them with? I have a CEL and it is one of the O2 sensors. Was hoping I could clean it but didn't know what to use. I was going to try carb cleaner but didn't know if it was too harsh.

How much difference would cleaning the O2 Sensors make on MPG? I get about the same 200-250 on 26 Gal. Got 175,000 on the motor.

Oh yeah how many O2 sensors are there? and where are they located? I'm borrowing this truck for a month or two and I want to get some better gas mileage out of this beast. It is rather fun to drive though.

Both my 97 and 2000 only have two of them, one right before the cat and the other is just past the cat or on the back side of it before the exhuast pipe starts. Easy to change yourself, kind of hard to get to the wiring plugs as one of them goes over the top of the tranny. I changed both of mine cost me a bit less then $140 for both.
