Its a gel cell batteryso it can be mounted on its side or even upside down
Is more impervious to vibrations than a standard battery
Are lighter than stock battery yet have 200-300 cca more.
Crank much longer in bad conditions than a standard acid battery will.
Take a beating and will come back to life even if run till they are dead. (deep cycle)
Generally will last about 50-100% longer than acid batteries.
Not as dangerous to handle
Look better

Some places mark them up a fair bit so they tend to be more expensive. Expect to pay at least 155+ for a red top, 200+ for yellow and210-250 for theblue top marine battery.

Ive got a red top in my 96

Why is your battery mounted in your bed? (Just curious, never seen that before)

They're worth it. They won't leave you stranded when you need them.

For example I'm stranded right now because my POS won't start...missing class, and the HW that was due at 8 am...[:@] off to a great start this morning.

personal experience....ive had 2 red tops crap out....only reason i still have one is b/c whenit crapped out...it wasa free replacement. im all for the optima batteries...as ive seen the yellow and blue ones stand the test of time, but to me, the red top is a waste. if you gonna spend the money to get a red, spend the couple more bucks and get a yellow.
