TMS Bill,
Where did you find 305/75/16. The only thing that I could find were 305/70/16, which according to the conversion chart are only about 3/4 inch wider but no taller. The 305/75/16 would be nice but I just couldn't find that size in the tires I looked at on TireRack.

Anyway, with a leveling kit I wouldn't go much bigger than 285's to start with, because if you go much bigger then you could get some rubbing. Then you either have to deal with it and run, buy a body lift, \or sell them and buy smaller ones. 285's should be ok with the leveling kit though.

There really is no final answer. It varies from truck to truck and tire to tire. If your coil springs are sagged, you might be more prown to rubbing. If the tire you buy has large aggrssive side lugs, it will rub more then a mild street tire. Also, 2" of leveling isn't going to guarantee that you will fit a bigger tire. The rub is on the control arm, and 2" isn't going to change that much. Your more likely to prevent rubbing the control arms by adjusting the wheel offset/backspacing.

I would say 285/75/16 would probably be the best tire and should fit with no rub for all conditions you would use the tire. 305's might fit, might not, depending on the variables I mentioned above. I have bought my tires from a place that lets me test fit the tire first. Might want to consider finding a place like that. Usually, if your planning to by $500-$1000 worth of tires, they are usually happy to let you mount a set to see if they rub. Most places won't let you leave if they rub anyway.

no prob,
I just read 75 and thought man I gotta find those tires, then couldn't find them so I figured it was a typo. I'd be afraid the 305's would be to wide on stock rims and rub on the inside. Let us know when you do it, I might try it to

3" will likely cause your truck to look too high in the front. You would need an AAL or a taller block in the rear for a 3". If all you want to do is the front, a 2" is going to be the way to go.

ok thanks. I'll probably just take my truck to a tire place and see what they think will fit before i get the leveling it. If the leveling kit wont help me fit bigger tires theres no point in getting it.
