Default tire size

I am looking to buy 33" tires for my truck. I currently have 285/75/R16s on there now and I wasn't sure how wide the 33" tires should be since most of them use the metric measurements and say the rim size is 16.5.

You already have 33's. The 285's are 32.86 inches in diameter.

Care to attempt 305/75/16? You only need a LITTLE lift.

I don't want a lift I'm just going to level it out. I already saw that calculator and it says i need 33x11.22x16 tires....if you can find a tire that sizes its width is 11.22 than go for it....I've been seeing ones that are 12.5, would they be too big for the rim?

A level IS a 2" lift ... front only. I'm running LT285/75/16 (33's) without a leveling kit. With one ... I could go quite a bit bigger.

Each truck is a bit different ... to find out about yours in particular ... I'd go up a size or two each time I needed new tires. That's what I did. If I ever level mine (or put a cheap 3" lift on it) I'm swapping on 305's when my 285's are history. I started with 265's. 245's are stock.
