Default Shocks

What would you guys recommend for a good shock set up for my truck. I'm not looking for anything too fancy, but I have to drive 3 hours on a bumpy ***, washboard and pothole filled road to get to pavement from here and my truck likes to bottom out alot on some of the bigger bumps. I'm looking to stiffen up the stock ride a bit I think. Not sure what's on there now, but the 4 years I've owned the truck I haven't changed them so it's time for something new.
Thanks for the input,

Mike

you live 3 hours from a paved road. damn, you are out in the country.
bilstein's are the best, and pretty expensive around $200 per set. do a search on them, somebody found them on ebay pretty cheap (for bilstein). rancho's are also real good, also expensive. i just run cheapo gabriel from autozone about $100 per set.

Any special mods I'd need to make to put in that 1-3 inch suspension lift. I've never dealt with anything like that before. Springs or anything else needed?

I have a spare of my Dodge Rancho Shocks. They are good. It’s still wrapped. Or you could purchase it yourself. The dealer is very easy to contact. Visit there site and see if you’d like them. They were recommended to me from the forum site my brother is in. Good luck!!!

ill tell you a brand to stay away from.. i bought the procomp ES3000's during a deal 4wheelparts.com was having.. buy 3 get one free + free steering damper.. i hate them.. regardless of road conditions,, its a choppy ride.. pothole or a snail.. doesnt matter.. i feel it all.. they are so stiff that they have gone through 2 sets of poly bushings....

i plan on getting the rancho adjustables...with the incab controller..
