If you open the part that holds the garage door opener, there will be 2 little clips you can see in the top of it, you have to push both of those back and pull down slightly. After doing that, slide it towards the rear of the truck and the only thing left holding it up will be the wiring for the overhead lights. Easy as pie. I just had to do it the other day.

I would say, depending on how much $$$ you have, either have it reupholstered or go out and have something custom made, maybe a fiberglass housing for something like an eq or something that would go with whatever kind of theme youre trying to go with. Maybe if youre a good wood worker or metal worker, you could custom fab something up yourself. Im a tool and die maker myself so if you need something made i can make on a manual machine let me know and ill see what i can do to help.

I am having the same problem with my overhead console, i just got a system and it rattles way too much. What if i just put two small screws in it do you think that would help the rattle

Dynamate wouldnt help with pieces of it rattling. I thought about that, then it came to mind that it wasnt the whole console rattling its just things like the little doors and pieces of it. Unless you wrap the whole thing in dynamat it wont stop the rattling.
