Way bck when VCR's were still bleeding edge technology I bought a Sony Betamax. I had as much money in repairs as what it cost, $750.00. Last Sony product I bought except for car speakers, they were decent quality in the 1980's-1990's

i never buy sony stuff, thats what they use at work on our tractor trailers cause they are cheap an u can get a package at walmart with the headunit,2 6 1/2s an 6 by9 for 150 bucks ,,good for about a year ,cant take a beatin,go with pioneer they will take it
Wal-Mart sells the same kits in pioneer. [sm=bangbang.gif]Sony headunits are the only sony products I buy. I've had the sony cdx-7000x since I was 16 and I'm 23 now plus its been in 4 different vehicles. It's starting to fail on the cd side, but it's held its own since new. Most stores will only give a 90 day warranty on products sold. You need to contact Sony on getting your money back and not harass the store you purchased it from.

Maybe the eye has dirt on it I get this problem with my kids Playstation and take it apart and clean with alcohol and q tip and the problem is solved.
They also sellcd player cleaners they're a cd you stick in that has a little brush on it so it cleans the eye while it's spinnin tryin to read the cd you put in. They've worked for me before.

personally, i'd go with alpine, panasonic, eclipse, or even jvc. Good luck with that pioneer. The head unit will stop ejecting your cds after awhile, happend to both of one of my friends pioneers, and to two other friends that had pioneers...just my 2 pennies.

i used to have a sony h/u in my first car and it did exactly what yours did. i have a panasonic cq-c8400u h/u in ram and i love it. i love the fact that it plays data disks so i can burn a couple hundred songs instaed of 14 tracks. my cd organizer looks alot neater now lol

Dang, I got one of the cheap Sony units 4 years ago and everything on it still works perfect. My truck is the 2nd car I've had it in. Its simple and was cheap.
