Default Say No To Sony!

I just figured I'd give ya'll a heads up on Sony CD players. Don't get them. My neighbor and I each bought us one about this time last year. Well last week mine stopped playing about half of my CD's. I ignored the problem for a little while and then the dang thing started eating them! I got two CD's that look like somebody ran a Dremel all over the bottom of them. And I just found out today that my neighbors won't play either. I took the piece of junk back to the place I bought it and they won't give me my money back. They said all they can do is ship it off to be repaired. I don't care if it's been repaired or not, it will not go back in my truck. There's no sense in spending that kind of money for a product that won't even last a year. So if your looking at a Sony think twice. I myself am getting a new Pioneer 6900.

I gotta admit though, that thing probably took a hell of a beating the way I drive and where I live. Where I'm from it's best to dodge the smooth spots in the road. If you can find the road.

it may have taken a beaten but the road where our truck haul from is all to hell, the only site of smoothness they have is when they get on the road, we have ford L9000 an LTL9000 an kenworths an all 40 of them take a beaten 6 days a week, the sonys never have held up when the pioneers handle it day to day, pioneer is a better built headunit,so yeah say no to sony

damn that's a bummer you had a problem with sony..

i've had my sony xplod 5500 in my truck for three years now and works just as well as the day i put it in. i also run sony component stuff in my apartment for listening to stuff outside the truck. yeah i actually do it sometime. i've had better luck with sony than most other brands i've used.

This is the first time I've had a problem with them. My PS2 is doing just fine. Don't get me wrong there an okay company I just don't think they've got what it takes when it comes to car audio.

I had purchased a sony xplod 5000 in 2000 and it worked fine for 4 years w/o skipping a beat.About 6 months ago i tried having it installed in my daily driver eagle vision. The audio place said the cd player works fine but the audio is out.So i mailed it to sony and they said they will upgrade it with a newer model w/ a remote and all for 135.00 i said send it.It went in easy and used the old harness from the old sony into the new 1 and i will say it works real good.Maybe you bought some defective equipment, it happens you know.
Just my .02

thanks
pat

Should have bought an Alpine or Eclipse instead of that Pioneer. As for Sony about everything I've owned from them has died a lot sooner than it should so I gave up on buying Sony stuff. Their car audio stuff isn't good when it does work though. The sound quality is horrible on most of it.
