Say No To Sony!
I guess I'm the only one running a Blaupunkt system? I have a Blaupunkt "Bahamas" CD/MP3 player in my Ram. It's been a pretty good system so far (only had it since October, and the truck since November).
I haven't had any problems with it, though my wife did a couple of months ago. I was out of state for work and she needed to use the truck to pick-up something and couldn't find the detatchable face [:@] She thanked me later for leaving the keys where she could find them but wanted to know when I would trust her with the detatchable face for the radio. It was with me, 3,000 miles away in my backpack. Oops!

I've never really used Blaupunkt stuff. I did almost buy a system from them with 2 speakers and a H/U but decided to go with a Alpine H/U and Polk Momo speakers instead. Cost a bit more but worked well. You can get Blaupunkt stuff mad cheap at the end of each year when they have new stuff coming out though but I can't comment on the quality. A guy I worked with gave me a older Sony before the Xplod line H/U I was going to put in one of my cars but ended up decidi to leave it stock and gave it to a friend that needed a radio for his truck as he needed it more than I did.

this is quite a useless post. everyone is gonna say this brand is better than this one, and that brand sucks and this brand has lasted this long....
unless you have failure statistics for every brand (and not 'oh but my friends died after a year', but actual statistical data from thousands of buyers and many years), your individual experience means nothing.
