Heat gun or hairdryer, works quick, just don't hold it in one spot too long. Harbor freight as guns for $9, works for removing stickers, and all kinds of stuff, worth while to have.

I removed all of the decals on my truck and the only place where there is a color difference is by the front fenders on my doors where I took the side molding off at. I have not tried buffing it or any thing yet though.

when i took the decals off of my old truck.. i had this nasty looking pinstriping design all down both sides.. i used a razor blade to get it off.. get it started u can just pull most of it off.. be careful not to press too hard tho and scratch the truck.. then i used 3M Adhesive remover.. put it on a shop towel.. and just wipe the adhesive off.. dont let it sit on the paint tho.. it can damage it if u let it sit.. but it worked great.. and shined it up.. when i was done.. you couldnt even tell there was anything there

I don't trust myself using a metal razorblade on my truck. They make plastic razor blades that work good I bought a kit from autzone with some sticker removing solution and a plastic razorblade. Worked good for me.

That's what I was recommending to you earlier. I'm glad everything worked out.
