Have you guys clean your injectors successfully with the jewelery cleaner? And yes, my FI's will be out since I have to swap them on to the new manifold.

Cool. So is there a certain process I need to follow?

I use distilled water to clean carbs and throttle bodies myself. Brush any gunk off, drop 'em into some just-boiling distilled water, and let 'em cook for a half hour or so. Sometimes I'll add a splash of distilled white vinegar to make the water a bit more acid. The parts come out hot so the DW that remains evaporates away, and there's zero etching of the metal. Sometimes it takes a bit more brushing/wiping and another dip, but it works well.

I wouldn't clean injectors that way, though.

Best way is to send them in to someone like FIC so they can clean the inside by cycleing them on/off,change filter basket, pintle caps and viton o-rings. Jewelrey sonic cleaner only cleans the outside any benifits are from a cleaner basket not the gunk in the injector.

You can open an injector with a 9 volt battery. Tape some wires to the injector prongs, then touch them to the terminals on a standard 9 volt. You could even do this a few times in the ultrasonic bath if so inclined. You could also get really fancy and buy a replacement injector harness to make swapping to the next injector easier. Just peel back a little insulation on the pigtail and tap the poles of the 9 volt. A small battery like that won't burn up the injector if it's left open for a while like an injector short in a truck would.

90% of the gunk is in the filter basket on the top of the injector anyway. The ultra sonic bath really does shake a crapload of the stuff out of the basket.

Sending them is absolutely the best way, but it's also the most expensive.

Very true, I'm just not looking to spend upwards of $25 per injector (x8 injectors) to get these cleaned.
