1st tranny issue on my rebuild.
As most of you may know, I just rebuilt my tranny. So a little over 100 miles in to the tranny and it won't shift into Over Drive. I did use a "remanufactered over drive solenoid" so I'm thinking that's the problem. No CEL's to mention. All signs point to that. Is there any way to test the O.D. solenoid with a multimeter? Any other suggestions on what the problem is?

If I could do it again, I'd get a junk yard tranny and take my time fixing it up. Then install it. Drive it for about 500 miles (have the old working one on standby) then sell the old one as a working bolt on tranny. Anyways, BUMP.
+1 on buying a spare anything for your dodge and fixing it up until yours goes bad and you finish your spare build and do the swap and sell the old unit, if you wait till something breaks then you are just out your time

Do you have a scan tool available for use? Is so, plug in and monitor to see if the PCM is commanding overdrive.
If you have a laptop computer, you can get a communications cable for 30-40 bucks, and FREE software, that will allow you to monitor all sorts of neat stuff, including whether the PCM is commanding overdrive......

***UPDATE:***
I've been reading a lot of post and I THINK I have another possible solution. (I'm only updating for the benefit of future readers) So I learned that if your trans doesn't warm up to temp, it will cause a no OD problem. I say this because, out of fear of burning my tranny again, I installed 2 tranny coolers and a trans temp gauge. My temp never went past 130 degrees. When I'd go on the highway, it'd drop between 120 and 100. The normal trans temp, on the "hot side" of the tranny line, is suppose to be between 170 and 180. I order a OD solenoid anyway too, we'll see.
