Removing Upper Dash?
Hi Guys,
I'm trying to hide my GPS wire in behind the dash so when I have my Garmin up on the window (bottom left corner of my windshield) I can just have the USB end of it right there.
My plan is to wire up a 12V accessory plug in up under the steering wheel area, and have the Garmin wire go up thru the dash. Problem is, I cant feed it up thru there. I was wondering if I could just remove that top part of the dash, where the 5 screws are up close to the windshield. How difficult is it? Do you have to remove the trim face piece part? I have been searching on here, and I couldnt really find anything in my repair manual.
Any ideas or thoughts would be helpful!
Thanks,
Brandon

Not without its hazards.... Getting it off without it deciding to blow itself into several pieces can be a challenge. Might be more successful running it up along the trim panel down there, and then between the dash, and the door seal? or whatever happens to be over there.
yeah my dash blew apart and now looks like a jigsaw puzzle when i tried to take it apart to run some wires behind the dash. I decided to just get a dash mat to hide its lovley looks and i ran my wires under it lol
If you have several people its not hard if you take your time. I had to replace my heater core last year and me and my brother did it by ourselves. If you decide to you should check your core and any other parts under there because you won't want to do it again a few months down the road.
Problem is the screws you see at the base of the windshield are not the only ones. There are also 4-5 additional screws that are screwed in pointing toward the driver that facilitates removing the dash to access.
