Default Pics of new tires

I got my new tires this morning; $823 out the door with 265/70/16 BFG All Terrain KOs. I am very pleased with them. I had the 245s on my truck before, and these things are monsters compared to them. I added over an inch to the width and 2 inches to the previous tire height. The truck rides much different. Every time I hit a bump I dont feel it any more. The minor amount of road noise is well worth it. And the solid white letters on the sidewall add a little bit to the look Even though it was a stock size that came on some of the Dakotas, theres a huge difference compared to the 245s.

Thanks Brian. If only I could have afforded some SRT-10 wheels while I was at it Lol.

Anyone know the best pressure to run these things at. I know they are rated at 65psi, but there is no way I am running anything close to that. I would wear out the centers like nothing. Im at 30psi in the front right now and 28psi in the rear. The tires appear to be running flat. My dad ran his Explorer with BFGs at 26psi. Any opinions?

Much better! The T/A KOs are a nice tire too, only complaint I've ever had about them was they're on the pricier side.

Yeah, I was going to go with the Generals, but from what I read on the internet either people loved them or hated them. My cousin works in a tire shop and I got these things at cost + $20 and they were mounted and balanced for free. They arent even that noisy. I think Im in love.

The rear tires just "let loose" really easy when making sharp turns or swinging a U-turn while lightly on the gas. It doesnt full out squeal the tire, but they make a low hum like I got on the gas a little too hard. Im guessing being a square tire they just dont grab dry pavement that well. Otherwise the pressure isnt right in them.

Love those BFG's, one of the best looking tires out there, IMO. I run my 265/70/16's (winter wheels) at 35psi, feels good to me.

What's your opinion on how they will handle snow? That's the main reason I'm thinking of something else for new winter rubber. I've heard mixed reviews on how they handle the snow.

I personally love them in the snow. I had 33x12.50s on the back of my 2wd chevy pickup and that thing was pushing snow with the front bumper and never got stuck. I think they do better as a winter/snow tire than they do as road/summer tire.

At 28psi on dry pavement I broke the rear end loose the other day. I didnt go with the Firestone Destination A/Ts again because I thought they handled for crap in the rain, but they were like glue to dry pavement. I wasnt expecting to almost spin the truck around with these bigger tires on, but I have to be careful now I guess.

The only cons Ive heard of the BFG ATs is the offroading capablities. They arent a good mud tire. For snow, not the worst tire you could have IMO. If you had 245/75/16s, you would probably do better just because its narrower. With the 12.5" wide tires I had on the back of my old chevy though, I never had a problem. The best snow tire I have heard of and road with is the Blizzak, but it is strictly a winter tire.

The Blizzaks are the best for snow, IMO. But I'm looking for a tire for snow and offroading on my 16's. As of now, I'm probably going with the Nitto Terra Grapps. Love the look of the BFG's! Great choice.

Thanks again, Dakotaff. Good luck on your tire search. Those Coopers probably wouldnt be too bad in the snow, but I wouldnt want to put your wheels through that type of torture with road salt.
