Default Center Console

Hey everyone. I just joined and was interested in asking a question about a Dakota that I just purchased. it is an '07 SLT with a center console that has a casette holder. I don't know about you, but last I checked most vehicles at this age do not have cassette holders. Did I buy a reconditioned vehicle? or is this what the dakotas come with? Your help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum! Your center console I think is common. My 2006 CC has cassette holders in the center console. Why? I have no idea.....

Guessing it's the fold down console/bench seat? That's perfectly normal, we're lucky they didn't put an 8-track holder in.

Yeah, our fold down center counsol on the 40/20/40 seat is basically useless. I can fit CD cases in the front part of it if I lay them flat, and then there is about enough room for a pen, some change, the superchips programmer and thats about it. I cant even fit my Oakley protective case for my sunglasses in it.

Same with our glove box. There is barley any room in there...

Is there any way to get a power outlet wired into this type of center console?

Sure there is. if you had a pic of the interior of the console and maybe a dimension or two, I'm sure I could come up with something for ya..

Finally, had some time today:

I was thinking of puting it underneath of where the pen is, or up by the coin thing. I appreciate any help that you can provide.
