Default The worst smelling substance from a vehical?

So I checked my diff fluid this evening, and it occurred to me; gear fluid may be the worst smelling thing for a truck. If you have never experienced the odor of gear fluid, I suggest you pull the plug on your diff, stick you finger in and then take a wiff. And ofcourse, then find your nearest friend and ask them to smell your finger, just because thats funny.

Anyone think theres something that smells worse?

burnt ATF is a bad one (fun practical joke btw). Cold exhaust is another one, though it's worse on my 08 kia than on my dakota.

oh... while not a native substance to a vehicle... cloth seats and bad burritos make for a pretty bad one after 8 hours of driving on friday and a hot weekend of being parked... (just glad someone else at work didn't get the truck on monday..)

tmi?

Haha, Ive left some things in my back seat during the summer. Its most embarressing when you have a smell that you cant find, and then you have someone in the back seat and they pull it out and ask wtf is that. Lol.

The rich/cold exhaust doesnt bother me. My sister had a Hyundai Elantra though that smelled like rotten eggs, only at certain times though.

Not truck related but..... My step-father put a piece of shrimp (cooked) in my mothers heater vent in her Grand Caravan last year for april fools day. He finally told her and removed it. Still smells to this day.

Lesson #1 - If it smells anything like a "dead shrimp in the heater vent", I suggest you dump her asap.

Don't forget the occasional forgotten dirty diaper, camp socks or car sickness.
But not to take away from you, anything coming from the rear end of anything can't be good.
