Construction (particularly restoration) would shut down in Ottawa if Newfoundland split! All of the restoration contractors that are any good - concrete repair, brick masonry repair, etc. - are overflowing with Newfies! They put their head down and get the work done, know how to deal with un-planned situations, they can figure out how to fix things on the fly.

I got a new job. I work for EBSCO Industries now, at the service desk.

I am the tech support guy, there are days i just want to answer the phone in an Indian accent just because.

Ah, a fellow help desk man. Congrats.

Unfortunately at my job, a bank, they have a dozen Indians in an office in India that they hired for development work. Answering with an Indian accident doesn't phase half the people at my job anymore because of that.

One of my new favorites is when someone puts in a trouble ticket to "turn down the heat, its getting hot up here" and the person two desks down from them puts in a ticket five minutes later, "turn down the A/C, its freezing up here."
