Caveat Emptor: 4wheelonline.com
So my mistake was not researching an unknown place before buying from them. They are not scammers or thieves per-say, but they may be the absolute worst run business in the US... I will tell you my experience so far and urge you to look at their reviews on resellerratings before even thinking of buying from them.
I saw the price for my rims and it was the cheapest price online, and had free shipping. I compared prices elsewhere and such but the price blinded my logic.
I ordered on Friday, 25th of Nov. Didn't get any kind of confirmation, started reading reviews and got worried, big time. It's almost $1k we're talking about here.. I never got an email or a call, nothing. The charge posted on Tuesday so I know they started working on it. Still no emails, I read their website "Tracking info will be sent after 3-4 business days." The next Friday rolls around and still no tracking number. They have a tracking number request form that says "Do not use this until 5 days have passed." They also have another warning that says "Do not inquire about your order for 7-10 business days."
I start reading their returns and cancellation FAQs. They charge 25% on returned or refused items, they back charge you for the free shipping, and if the item is drop shipped from another warehouse, they say they can charge an ADDITIONAL 25%... Over 50% restocking fee? Are you f'in kidding??
On a simple order cancellation, which is what I was interested in, they can charge a 5% fee just to cancel the order that hasn't even been prepared yet. So I wait, and worry because I can't pay 50 bucks to cancel my order. Buyer Beware.
So I did the tracking request form this Friday (Dec 02) since it was 7 days (they didn't specify business days in the tracking request page.) Oddly enough, there was an automated response from it. "We got your form and will reply within 3 business days." Ok I thought, Wednesday I will know the tracking number, or why they haven't gotten one yet. Great communication.
After reading the reviews of this place, I decided to save myself the trouble of phoning them. As inefficient as they managed to make it, email is still the quickest way to get anything from them. Odder still, I actually got a response from someone earlier today, (Sunday Dec 4th) They replied on a Sunday? Things might be looking up... I read it with anticipation.. "We have received your tracking request and are currently getting an ETA or tracking number from the warehouse. We will contact you once it is available."
So the automated response says I have to wait for this, and this says I have to wait some more? This is where I sit. I will update as it progresses.
I'm not the type to go all out slanderous on anyone or any company, it's obvious to me that they are a real company and it is up to the shopper to decide to take a risk on a place like this and hope that "lack of communication" is the only problem you run into. I sure do, it's agonizing to not know anything about an order that I paid almost 1000 bucks for.

Ouch... that does sound painful. I feel your pain, I had about the same thing happen when I ordered my tow hooks from a dealership with and online market place. Luckily I called them and they corrected it all and got me rolling. I hope it all works out for you.
So amazingly I got another response from them this morning. They tell me it's on backorder and they have no ETA. I'm going to try to cancel with out getting a fee. Otherwise I will have to wait. It sucks though, I'm going on vacation the 20th. I doubt they will have a tracking number ever, even if they ship it. I may not be here when the package is. They require a signature so it might get shipped back or held at fedex or something. If it goes back to them, there's another buttload of fees.

Yes, I canceled my order and anxiously waited for my refund, they didn't charge any fees and refunded the whole about. It took almost 2 weeks.
As far as the wheels, the wheel I ordered doesn't exist. They would have ordered from the factory and waited for them to custom drill them but it's obvious they never would have given me any updates on the matter.
I ordered from another place, who told me that info. I talk to the owner on the phone and he was very eager to help. They also told me the blank wheels are completely out of stock and haven't been in stock for months. If I had waited for 4wheelonline I wouldn't have gotten anywhere.
I ended up buying from Customwheelsexpress.com and had a good experience, I had to choose a different wheel which was a bummer but I found a good one. They arrived quickly and painlessly, I got order confirmation emails, tracking number, an ETA.. it was the way it should be.

Wow that sucks, at least you got your money back. I was tempted to order mine from a similar company (Wheelsnext, also has horrific reviews) as they were the only place that seemed to sell them but Discount Tire Direct was able to find them for me even though they didn't list the ones I wanted, they even beat the advertised price on Wheelsnext. Glad you found someone decent in the end.
