Default New Year Resolution time has come, NO MORE CHEW

Well that time has come. After smoking since I was 16, then chewing since I was 21 (28 now) the time has come to get off this ****. My intake has been more and more each week, and bank account less and less.

I am gonna be trying a product called Bacc Off.

http://www.dipstop.com/

I will keep you guys posted on the taste and quality when the first shipment comes in.

I have heard of this product from my cousin who ended up with mouth cancer from chewing since he was 16 and now he is 39 with no health insurance and medical bills going through the roof.

From reviews on the product the straight flavor is almost an exact match to Grizzly which is what I dip.

Wish me luck guys! Hope some of you will do the same!

Good luck brother! I was going to make that my resolution but ended up quitting in December a little earlier than I planned. It is not that easy but I feel as if I have good resisitance to nicotine. I am only 18 years old but started dipping when I was 15 (baseball player). I never admitted to being addicted until this summer with stress from work etc. causing me to pack more and more. In September I started to do Grizz mint pouches and although I packed those heavily I managed to quit by mid December. I'm sure that you've been doing it a lot longer than me but just telling you my story hoping to motivate you (: best of luck, chew is such an addictive habit in general

I finally quit after 30 years in Feb 2010. It will be 2 years this February. I took part in a smoking cessation study being done by Duke medical center. They used a combination of things. I got free Xyban, Chantix and the patch plus they paid me for taking part in the study, made like $500.....lol

^ You only smoked Kent? I don't know whats worse chew or cigarettes..I know dip doesn't affect your lungs but it definitely beats up the mouth over time. The only damage I have from chew for 2.5 years is a couple of millimeters of exposed tooth on one of my bottom fronts. My gums were in pain though the more frequent I did it.

I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. Did smoke a pipe for a couple of years in the winter up north (my grandfather smoked a pipe and I thought it was "cool"). I'll smoke a cigar every once in a while, like maybe five or six a year. BUT I started chewing leaf tobacco at 13 and phased over to Copenhagen at about 22. I'll be 45 the end of this month, so that's a LOT of years!

I intend to quit at some point, but I was 335 lbs. last March and am down to about 250 now, trying to get down to about 225 lbs. AIN'T NO WAY I can diet AND stop dipping at the same time, matter of fact I'm dipping now more than ever since I got laid off and am outside a lot more plus I have gotten used to reaching for the can of snuff when I'm hungry.

But when I reach my goal weight my plan is to try to quit dipping next. I would advise anyone who buys stock to buy some bubble gum company stock at that time...

You guys ever look into the swedish SNUS? Read that unlike our tobacco, they filter out all the contaminants and claim very low health consequences. Just throwing it out there for those that can't quit - maybe a healthier alternative?

My buddy had some Swedish snus from a local gas station..a lot of pouches came in it and they were in the tin shaped in a cool design. The tin was a light blue and they were mint flavored. I tryed it and they were good, but I don't know if we are thinking of the same thing

Sounds like the same stuff my buddy chews, when you open the pack for the first time you're like "whoa, camel rips me off! look at all those pouches!" even though the can seems to be a bit smaller.. and they are laid out in a nice fan pattern inside too.

Only smoked. Tried dipping once, made me so sick I threw up stuff I ate the week before. I smoked whatever was cheap. Sad that I live in the home town of RJ Reynolds tobacco and even the off brand el-cheapo cigs were selling for $4 a pack when I quit.
