Hey guys, I ordered Akebono ceramic brake pads..now I need rotors. I didn't trust the rotors with free pads from brakeoverstock for $140 but I do trust the drilled and slotted rotors from brakeperformance..of who has them, do you recommend them?

dont waste your money on cross drilled. they will crack. slotted/dimped is ok, but not drilled.

I have the brake performance slotted and dimpled ones. They are nice, are made of better metal than that Chinese crap, do not surface rust when its humid out.

Only downside is that they make a kinda clicking sound as the pad passes over the surface, its not very load, but will be a noticeable difference from oem style.

I have had mine for a while and I would buy these again. I wish they came with ceramic pads and not semi metallic.

Yeah, my only concern is them cracking Kent. I see that the Dimple and Slotted are $50 more than the Cross Drilled and Slotted and come with pads which I don't need but I just scrolled down and realized that they have the option of just slotted so I think I ll just get those..thats what I want anyways. I agree about the whole ceramic thing, although ceramics have to be hot in order to be effective I think it is still worth it dust-wise. I'm actually pumped about the Akebono pads..they make some good products. I searched it on our section and found no results but in the 3rd Gen Ram section all the guys said they were great pads and were the best when it came to brake dust. My black wheels get dirty so easily and when I get the polishedv20's on I definitely won't want metallic pads. Btw I will be painting the brackets black and the calipers silver to match the truck

When I got my dimpled/slotted from brakeperformance, they didn't have the option for drilled. They only had slotted or the ones I got. They also recommend not using ceramic on SUV/truck applications.. not sure why. I actually just installed mine with their premium pads and so far so good. not a huge ugly brown dust build up like before. there is some but nowhere near the stockers.

Because ceramics only work to their full potential when they are hot..about 400-450 degrees

I got the cheapest semi-metallic pads I could from Oreilly's, Brakebest or something like that. I wash my truck so much, dust is not a problem..lol

I love my dimpled and slotted rotors. I got the semi metallic pads and I still have brake dust.
