Convertible Dak
So, any of you that are friends with me on FB know I'm looking for a beater car to drive back and forth to work after my daughter gets her license and starts driving the Mustang (so I don't have to pile miles on the Dakota). My wants are manual trans and convertible or t-tops. I'm looking at Mustang's, Camaro's, Miata's, 300ZX's, eclipse's.....then I find this...

It's an automatic though...but it's got a 318 in it. Is it a classic of a POS? Defiinitely a fixer-upper.....but I though it was neat. Didn't even know they made these.

If you do buy this kent, you should take a look at this guy from dak-dur, pinkfloydeffect, he's building an '88 that has a lot in common with the 89. Get some good cheap ideas

The first American convertible pickup since the Ford Model T, it featured a fixed roll bar and an uncomplicated manual top. Roughly 2,842 were sold that first year and 909 in 1990.
In order to fulfill the Dodge Division's commitment to the American Sunroof Company (who were responsible for the modifications to these trucks), production of the "drop top" Dakota was extended into the 1991 model year. These models were equipped with the new "Magnum" V6 engine, along with the updated front fascia that all other 1991's received. Production was extremely limited, with just 8 produced in total, making them the most rare of all Dakotas. No advertising was given to these 8 trucks, and they do not appear in sales literature.

Okay...the convertible Dak would be cool because hey, it's a FACTORY CONVERTIBLE TRUCK. As for the port-a-potty pic....too late.
