I thought with the changes they made on the 08+ that there was no longer an HO model. The base 08+ v8 was rated 300+hp vs the 260 on the HO anyway.

correcto novo. 2008 was the new style, new motor, no more HO cause it wasn't needed.

That would be a nice upgrade for someone not looking to go hemi or not sure about turbo, super charger, or N2O...

So....where can someone get a hold on one of those 310hp 4.7s?

Ive looked a bit online, but can only find pre 08 engines. Also do you guys know if the motor mounts are different, if so not a big deal, I'm more worried about the tranny bolting up

Id be curious about the ECU, since mine is a 6spd, and the 08+ are only auto.

Did you blow your engine or something Mitsu?

Nah, my engine is fine. But if I decide to go up in boost later on I would rather swap to an HO that is already forged rather than try to upgrade internals on my current engine.

By the way the sump tank worked perfectly I can finally hit full boost and no oil will sip past the seals. No more smoke! Zero! nada!

This means that I am ready for tunning. This weekend im going to remove the charge pipes and intercooler to clean the oil that has accumulated there before the sump tank. After that, its finally time to go to 15lbs and wake up the beast with a custom tune! bwahahaha

So you where running the turbo without a tune? Isn't that dangerous? What is the EMS 8860 anyway, fuel management of some sorts?

I'm not sure about those motors..someone on here said that our old 4.7 keeps up with the newer trucks just fine. Numbers are numbers..its all about reality. If my truck can outperform an 08 4.7 then I wouldn't want to "upgrade." Is your motor now the H.O. version or the stupid 230 HP one that most of us are stuck with?
