Default Tire and wheel size calculator

I just ran across this last night and I can't keep it to myself...

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

This will help you see the visual reference of changing offset, width, tire size, etc.

I've been using that one for a while, it's probably the best way to figure it all out.

Default Factory 1500 Rims/Tire size

What up guys? i tried looking at the tire chart, dont trust myself 100% to read it correctly so i figured id ask you all first. Im buying a set of 2011 OEM 1500 rims, They are 20 x 8.5, what is the biggest tire that can fit the rim and my 2005 Dakota SLT with a 1.5 front leveling kit? Thanks!

Thanks! I actually spoke to Dakotaff about tire and lift size recently, i just wasnt sure if the 20 x 8.5 rim made a difference in tire size from the 20 x 9 rim.

ahh well mine are 20x8 but I put 265's on them...and I did a 50 with no lift...so you may even be able to fit something alittle taller...as far as wideness I'm not really sure...

Paulinations, did you do any trimming on your wheel wells?

A 265/50/20 tire will fit without any trimming, with the 1.5 leveling kit (or stock suspension).
A 285/50/20 tire will require some (not much) trimming on the front splash guards and wheel well liners. Also most likely some (very minor) rub on the front sway bar and frame at full turn.
Either sized tires in the rear will fit without any issues at all (no lift at all required).

You're not going any bigger without some major trimming and/or removing the front splash guards completely. And it could get ugly!

Thanks guys! i want to go with the P285/50/20 So i might just wait to get the 20 x 9 inch rims. I also want a beefier tire look and i am afraid the 8.5 width will take away from that. Love the look of dakotaff' wheel set up. Not sure a 20 x 8.5 will get me that look.
