Default It's a sad day

because....my inspection sticker is up on the last day of this month! Just set the truck back to stock and now have to drive it for 100 miles before I can get my inspection done. My guy doesn't look at anything, just plugs in the machine but I wouldn't pass inspection here in MA. Meanwhile, SC tuner is updating downstairs as I type this..mine came from a 2g 360 owner so I think it probably is in need of an update anyways. I feel like it might perform better when I retune it? With tow tune of course..

Why you have to drive it 100 miles before?

Here they HAVE to look, and remove tires, and such. Even on trailers with brakes.
I dont even think they hook anything up, lol

It is all electronic..some machine that plugs into the OBDII connector. They are supposed to give a visual inspection, lights, exhaust etc. but my guy doesn't. It's just that I don't think that even having a friend do it the truck would pass inspection due to the changes in the PCM. She's back to stock now..haven't driven it yet. Cleaned the air filter and waiting on the oil to soak in.

That's how they do emissions testing on '96 and newer vehicles in AZ. They don't inspect here except putting a mirror under the car to make sure nothing is shady with the exhaust.

All they do here is plug into the port. Look for codes. I never had to set mine back to stock. Don't know why you would have to. It does not monkey with the emissions. If it did, it would be throwing codes.

No inspections in South Dakota. Although some days I think there should be... lots of cars that shouldn't be on the road.

NJ same as AZ. Mirror the exhaust(just the cats) and plug her in. No codes? You're good to go. Oh yeah, they check the gas cap and believe it or not they check the horn. No lights, wipers, glass, tires, steering, susp...

Maybe what I'm doing isn't necessary but I know I've read on here before of at-least one or two users here that had to do it. It isn't just a regular scan tool that is used around here, I know that. I think it can somehow interfere with the tune and make the tuner useless or throw off emissions as I originally stated. I drove about 20 miles today and will throw on another 40 miles tomorrow. Will get my sticker after my first shift ends at 11:30..had stock tune on tonight btw, floored it and my truck was much laggier upon throttle response and shifted like a Buick. And I'm not talking about a Grand National felt like someone stole my torque!

I had mine inspected 5 miles after putting the stock tune. It saves your stock tune in the unit so I think when you go back to stock, everything is in the same state it was when you flashed the SC tune... I could be wrong though, maybe I was just lucky. But I don't think re-flashing the stock tune is the same as a dealer-performed wipe/flash.
