I dont know about your area, but around here, that price is incredible. My truck with 122k on it, has a trade in value of 12k still...

My truck is an 06. its the single best vehicle I have ever owned. Obviously you have to take care of maintenance and there is more to it than oil and gas... Take care of it and it will take care of you.

I still love my truck. I have had it since new with 3 miles on it.

Since that's a Canadian truck, I'm assuming the "mileage" is kilometers. For a 2005, that's very low. I would want to know why, it could be low mileage and rotten or low mileage and like new, a dealership description doesn't tell you that. If it's not seized up (the front end bolts and bushings are prone to seizing, especially on the lower control arm) and in otherwise good shape, the price isn't too bad - a little high, but you should be able to negotiate a better deal. If you know/trust a mechanic, ask the dealer if you can take it to this mechanic for an evaluation using your own cash & depending on what this mechanic tells you, you'll know whether to negotiate or drop it.

The Dakota is extremely light is the back, so any impediment to traction (like snow, rain, ice, etc.) is going to be very noticeable, especially with a V8. I tend to use the 4wd fairly often on slick roads, even with good snow tires on in the winter the rear axle can loose traction on an incline or under load in 2wd. As a bottom line, if my truck was a 2wd, I wouldn't have bought it, I would have looked for a full size pickup.

I have a 2005 and that truck is a steal, very reliable, only issue is the frt end, and we all know by switching to the rancho shocks the issue is much better, but my truck has 136000 miles on it and it is still strong, I would scoop that truck up, also please do a carfax, if there is ant issues they will appear,
