Default Just got some new tires!

I just got some new tires and had them installed today and I just feel like showing them off. It's a 2008 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab V8 4x4. The tires are Cooper Discoverer A/T3. The stock size for my truck is 265/60 R18 but I wanted to get a bit bigger without having to do any modifications (stock suspension) so I went with a 265/65 R18. They look sweet but do rub a tiny bit when turning on the mudflap.

Here is a picture of the wear on the mudflap, it's hard to see. I might take the mudflap off and grind that area down so the tire doesn't hit it anymore. Or I'll just let the tire wear it down. Depending if I have time, I'm heading up fishing for the weekend.

I had the same rubbing issue on my truck when I went up to 18" rims and a set of BFG's. I ended up using my dremel to trim off everything you have from that red circle in your pic to and including the bolt on the right. I was still having a rubbing issue in both the front and back when turning to extremes. so I ended up drilling a couple small holes and used zip ties to pull the wheel well liner back on both sides and got more than enough clearance to not worry about it anymore.

Yeah, a little trim and you'll be fine. Nice choice on the tires.

Yeah I had Discount Tire price them out for me for the 265/70R16's and they're about $885 with the certificates. Consumer Reports rated them the best A/T tire.

Moved you to the general discussion section, since this isn't a tech question.

Nice tires, and nice truck. Can't always trust everything by Consumer Reports, as they go buy who owns their stock or buys them off a lot of times. Regardless though, those tires do look quite capable.

I ended up getting a set of these too in the 265/70R16. Just put them on and it poured. Probably ran through a few running washes that I shouldn't have, but the truck made it through with these tires. Can't wait to see them in dry.
