Not sure why your guts don't fit the flip key. I've been using the OEM style flip key whenever I'm using my truck now, I love that thing. That key fit together perfectly, the aftermarket flip key works fine, but the OEM style feels more solid.

Mind if I see how you set yours up? Maybe mine is different somehow I'm unsure:/

I ordered another OEM style flip key, which will arrive on the 17th, hopefully. I will open up my aftermarket flip key and transfer the guts into the new OEM style key since that has a better feel to it. I'll snap a pic or two when I do that.

I could not put the aftemarket key guts into the OEM style flip key, it seemed like something was missing for that to work. I will try again using my other OEM key and see if that works.

I do not want to open up the already assembled OEM flip key to see how that one went together, because these keys are a bit tricky to get them closed and wound up properly.

I finally put the 2nd OEM flipkey together. The battery stays attached to the original key guts, pictures are below.
  • All the OEM flipkey parts layed out, plus my OEM key guts. The battery stays attached, do not remove it.

  • Simply flip over key guts into the flipkey.

  • Attach key ring, and connect bottom of flipkey with the screw on the back.

  • Have fun attaching key blade, button, and spring (Winding up the spring to get a good solid 'Flip' will take a few attempts.

  • This video might help with the spring windup, there are plenty more videos to help out available.

Show a picture of the front side (button) your truck key. Your picture looks like an aftermarket key.

Yup, you have an aftermarket ket, like mine pictured below. So the other flipkey would work for you.
