When I get the chance I will disconnect the feed from the shift motor. This may stop the 4wd light from illuminating up on the dash?
Just adding that I had a free car ramp last week and got the truck up in the air, disconnected the plug on the TC motor. The 4wd/svc light stays on all the time now, but with the fuse removed there's no issue with it dropping into 4wd by itself.
Will up date when I have bought the new TC motor.

Latest up date, I have now ordered, received and fitted the new TC motor and can report that I have all the 4WD back again. Bit of a faff fitting it as the front driveshaft was in the way, but once the rear transmission mount was unbolted and the transmission raised it then made easier access.
Now I can get on with the Ram........

Just to close off on this subject. The TCM was at fault.
When I removed the existing one It was made in China.
Trouble is, so was my new replacement
So far so good.
