According to sylvania's bulb replacement guide the back up lights on our trucks are 3157.
Superbrightleds.com has some that are supposed to be very bright, kind of pricey though.
http://superbrightleds.com/tail-brake-turn.html scroll down near the bottom, they're the 3 watt luxeon ones.

Well they had a different number labeled as stop/turn bulbs, check out the sylvania page: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm

Might not hurt to pull the bulbs out and double-check that before you buy anything though.

Oh, and it's not really your idea... lol... I thought about this a long time ago when I decided to tint my rear windows to < 1% ...

I need some way to lighten the area behind me.

lol yeah...you know what I did was this. Since i have my LED strobe flasher on the passenger side backup light circuit, I bougt a pair of fog lights and hooked them up on the driver side backup lights circuit, so when i go to backup, I have fog lights ligting my area behind me, and I have flashing lights to warn people...just an Idea, buying the 3157 LED bulbs and a Sho-Me LED Flasher will get ya there.

Altair has a great idea to get the 3w LEDs, they are REALLY bright.

Do those 3W LED's come in pairs for 24.95? Or, is that per light?

I've been trying to figure that out myself, if it's pair I'd have bought it already but the possibility of paying $50 for back up lights makes me think twice.

lol, is there some type of bulb thats brighter that will just plug in...or will i have to go and get led's and a resistor....if so, i may be thinking about the fire+ice light bar...if i did that i would NOT hook it up to my brake light....turn signals and reverse only
