Default Anyone have the EVS 1 security in their Dak?

Hey guys, I'm looking for opinions on the EVS system from anyone who has it. Just got my Dak this weekend, bought it from my grandfather with less than 10k on it. I definitely want some security on it and I've been thinking of putting in the EVS system since it works with the factory remote. I just wanted to get some thoughts on it before I shell out $260 for a dealer to install one.

are you talking about the device that you have to press a button before you can start the vehicle?

It's on the Mopar site, seems to be a much more advanced alarm system. Here's the description from there:

"Security, EVS I - For vehicles with Remote Keyless Entry. Enjoy the convenience and peace-of-mind of electronic exterior and interior vehicle protection with Mopar EVS I Security System. Specifically designed to add security features to your existing remote keyless entry transmitter.

EVS I Security System operates with production RKE. Complete kit includes unique vehicle harness and offers perimeter/interior protection with horn-honk alarm, starter interrupt and dash-mounted LED. Cannot be used on vehicles with Mopar Remote Start."

sounds like a lot better of a system....i dont have remote start, so i guess i cant get it. that is unless i get remote start but it would be a waste imo because i wouldnt use it ENOUGH. although, if i was buying a new car and it was an option, i would get it for those cold winter mornings. wouldnt use it if i was at school though, thats a problem begging to happen

I think you misread it, it says it can't be used on vehicles with remote start

Eric is that 260 just for the system or is that how much it usually costs with installation? If I did that I'd have to carry another remote fob too right?

Usually when you get an aftermarket alarm they willprogram your keyless entry into the new fob so that you only have to use that one.
