Anyone have the EVS 1 security in their Dak?
Hey guys, I'm looking for opinions on the EVS system from anyone who has it. Just got my Dak this weekend, bought it from my grandfather with less than 10k on it. I definitely want some security on it and I've been thinking of putting in the EVS system since it works with the factory remote. I just wanted to get some thoughts on it before I shell out $260 for a dealer to install one.
It's on the Mopar site, seems to be a much more advanced alarm system. Here's the description from there:
"Security, EVS I - For vehicles with Remote Keyless Entry. Enjoy the convenience and peace-of-mind of electronic exterior and interior vehicle protection with Mopar EVS I Security System. Specifically designed to add security features to your existing remote keyless entry transmitter.
EVS I Security System operates with production RKE. Complete kit includes unique vehicle harness and offers perimeter/interior protection with horn-honk alarm, starter interrupt and dash-mounted LED. Cannot be used on vehicles with Mopar Remote Start."

sounds like a lot better of a system....i dont have remote start, so i guess i cant get it. that is unless i get remote start
but it would be a waste imo because i wouldnt use it ENOUGH. although, if i was buying a new car and it was an option, i would get it for those cold winter mornings. wouldnt use it if i was at school though, thats a problem begging to happen

I dont know. for 260 you can get a good python with more range, and have an actual siren that is a lot louder. plus you have the option to add proximity sensors and remote start still... just my $0.02 american
well mine has an alarm and everything, but i never noticed any led inside...what are the diferance between the regular alarm and this one

Eric is that 260 just for the system or is that how much it usually costs with installation? If I did that I'd have to carry another remote fob too right?

Yeah, I install them. Our alarms come with install in the price. 260 will get you 300 feet of range, keyless entry and alarm. (I dont know where you are, but I work at ABC warehouse. I would check there)
Just dont go to best buy... I have seen and heard too many horror stories. Circut city is OK...
My key has teh keyless built into it. dont yours too?
